Bulletin boards are a great useful preschool education as well as decoration for the classroom. They can be used to teach children about holidays, seasons, a theme, shapes, colors, or just for fun. An interactive bulletin board is particularly effective as it can be used for weeks on end to get through a particular objective.
For example, if you learn about various animals, try making a bulletin board that is sectioned off into several different habitats. (Examples might be desert, ocean, woods, yard, etc.). Children have to place each animal in the correct habitat. You could even have different animal tracks to match the footprint that each animal is doing and if children can imagine the tracks.
Seasonal bulletin boards are important in teaching children about the different seasons. For the fall, you could have each child trace their hand on colored paper to make the "leaves" for a large tree. This can help with the layout and cutting skills. If you are learning to write their names, then engaged in its own leaves. A similar idea can be used for Christmas where each child gets to design and make ornaments for the Christmas tree on your bulletin board preschool.
Preschoolers can have a basic understanding of some major holidays such as Christmas or Easter, but the boards are a great way to learn about other important special days throughout the year. Eve of All Saints, Thanksgiving, Day Card Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day and Earth Day can also be easily incorporated into a bulletin board and preschool can teach their preschoolers to valuable lessons about history, as well as other important values such as conservation (Earth Day), gratitude (thanksgiving) and love (day card Valentine's Day).
If you are learning about various forms in her preschool class, try doing a bulletin board that has lots of multicolored forms attached with sticky tack. Children can move the shapes around and learn about making patterns while they are learning their ways!
With a little creativity almost any bulletin board can be interactive. Children love seeing their work displayed. It makes them feel important and special. Make that "help" to make different materials for preschool bulletin board may mean that not look absolutely perfect, but much additional work will save you!
Having your help students with their message boards has other benefits too. For example, when some parents come in with a lengthy list of "helpful suggestions" (translation: everything you're doing it wrong) can distract them by saying, oh look what little Jimmy did in class today! He is so talented! You must be so proud! Problem averted.
In all seriousness however, the boards are a great way to show each child's development and learning. Even simple skills like coloring, drawing, pasting, tracing, and cutting are the major milestones during this phase of life! You may just find that your preschool bulletin board quickly becomes the focal point of the room. Now is the right inspiration and will surprise you with what you can get!
