Preschool Theme Lesson Plans

Why use thematic lesson plans?

Preschool themes are not essential for a successful preschool lesson, but help bring everything together and keep students engaged in learning. For that reason, subjects are encouraged to help preschool teachers highly save time and energy in their planning.

The subjects also help preschool teachers show students how different things can be correlated. Allows to dig deeper into the topic and explore it from different angles.

Using themes

Once a teacher has chosen a theme, the next requirement is to determine how to fit a lesson in the constraints of the item. There must be several components to a lesson topic. The first would be the main objectives, if he is to teach geography or animals or new vocabulary. These objectives should be linked to the topic. For example, if the theme is animals, learning objective could be to teach the rainforest animals and the reason for their colors.

After the lesson must have a physical activity to get students to move around and involved. This activity could be a song, a dance, a scavenger hunt, or play follow-the-leader. Again, the activity should be linked to the issue and allow students to explore further. If the subject is animals, students could imitate animals and requiring students to guess the right animal.

Finally, the lesson should include a craft project. This project must employ creative students, encouraging them to use art to express themselves and learn more about the subject.

Sample Tracks

Because preschoolers are interested in the world around them, good bond issues back into the things they see daily. The following list is a good starting point for preschool teachers that need the ease of flexibility and a way of uniting all.

Automobiles?
Geography of the world?
Mountains and volcanoes?
?? in the kitchen
Pets?
?? at the zoo
Time?
Flowers?
Vacation?
Activities in the winter?
Days festival?
Seasons?

Official against long-term issues

The preschool teachers who use issues have some options when it comes to the length of the item. They can choose a theme for a day or one for longer. Anything less than a day is not long enough for students to understand the connection of activities.

If teachers want to expand the preschool themes for a week or longer, must choose a topic broad enough that every day can bring together a certain way. For example, if the subject is time, Monday could be the basic elementary movements that made up the time, natural disasters, Tuesday, Wednesday the water cycle, clouds Thursday and Friday, you can glue together.

Final thoughts on preschool themes

The themes preschool teachers can help to tie lessons together and explore ideas in a way more profound than might otherwise in less time. Items must be no shorter than one day, but can be much longer, eg a week or more. Topics should be broad enough that teachers can play in many aspects, but must be focused enough that students can see the connection of ideas.
